On September 15th, 2022, the Empire State Building lit up in green, white, and red -the Mexican flag colors- to commemorate the 212th anniversary of our Independence.
To commemorate the 212th anniversary of Mexico’s Independence, the Consulate General of Mexico in New York and the Mexican Cultural Institute of New York organized an event during which the attendees enjoyed live music, DJ Eurforia, presentations by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company and Mariachi Álvaro Paulino with special guest, Maite Perroni.
At 7 pm, the Consul General of Mexico in New York, Jorge Islas López, announced the customary Cry of Dolores, or Grito de Dolores, in remembrance of the heroes who sacrificed their lives for Mexico’s Independence.
