After 33 years, the English National Ballet returned to NYC to perform at BAM the acclaimed reimagined version of the iconic ballet, Giselle, by choreographer Akram Khan.
With powerful images and mesmerizing choreography, this performance marked the end of an era, as the Artistic Director, Tamara Rojo, and principal dancer, Isaac Hernández, said their goodbyes to the ENB as they joined the San Francisco Ballet.

Born in Guadalajara, México, Isaac Hernández is the first Mexican dancer to win the Benois de la Danse. Considered the Oscar of the discipline at the age of 28, the International Dance Association named him the best male dancer in the world. He has danced with the most important companies in the world, including the American Ballet Theater in New York and the Dutch National Ballet, and has performed on prestigious stages such as the Paris and Rome Opera, the Mariinsky Theater, and the Bolshoi.
