The Irish Arts Center and the Consulate General of Mexico in New York invite you to participate in the 7th Annual Book Day on St. Patrick’s Day. On Friday, March 17th volunteers will be sent across the 5 boroughs to give New Yorkers the gift of free literature in English and Spanish, introducing readers to new authors and spreading literature throughout the city.
Building on our multidisciplinary mission and promoting the power of storytelling to bring people of all backgrounds together, volunteers hand out thousands of books by Irish, Mexican and America authors, from 7 am until the books run out. At 12:15, Diego Gómez-Pickering, Consul General of Mexico in New York, will be handing out free copies of his book “La Primavera de Damasco” at the south corner of Park Avenue and 42nd St. Come and get your book!
Let’s celebrate the incredible literary richness of the city we live in!
