Established in 1991, The Mexican Cultural Institute is the cultural department of the Consulate General of Mexico in New York and, an American non-profit organization.

Mission

Our mission is to generate, strengthen and promote a creative, updated, plural, and dynamic image of Mexican art and culture to foster a better understanding and appreciation of our country and identity.

GOALS

  • Creation and broadcasting of artistic and cultural projects that expose the past and present of Mexico.

  • Support Mexican artists, local and living in Mexico, facilitating the exposure of their works and performances in the different categories of art and culture.

  • Help visualize the Mexican community and its contributions to New York and the United States by reckoning priority issues such as migration.

  • Review our country's past, cultural and artistic heritage for a better understanding and effectively respond to the current needs.

  • Strategic collaboration alliances with local and Mexican institutions and organizations that promote Mexican art and culture in all its aspects.

  •   Preservation of the national artistic and cultural heritage through collaborative networks that strengthen its protection, registration, conservation, and restoration.
